Framework Laptop Now Accepts ARM Processors, Not Just Intel and AMD

MetaComputing has released an ARM-based motherboard for Framework Laptop 13, featuring a 12-core processor with Linux support—the platform's first non-Intel/AMD option. At $549 for 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, it shows that Framework's modular design can swap processor types while keeping the same screen, case, and ports. Users can now switch between ARM and conventional x86 processors without replacing peripherals or losing the ability to upgrade later, a sharp departure from how most laptops are built today.
