Meta Rarely Defends Why It Banned User Accounts, EU Review Finds

When Facebook and Instagram users appealed account bans to an independent EU body, Meta provided evidence to explain its decision in fewer than 100 of 4,600 cases—less than 2%. Account suspensions were the most common complaint. EU law requires platforms to cooperate fairly with these reviews. The European Commission says Meta has broken that obligation.
