Amazon Uses AI to Help You Shop

Amazon launched AI Shopping Guides across over 100 product categories in October 2024. The guides help customers find the right product by asking questions and learning what matters to them — like size, price, or specific features. Rufus, an AI assistant available to US shoppers via the Amazon app, answers shopping questions in plain conversation. Both tools use Amazon's data about products and past customer choices to give tailored advice.
