US adds a 12.5% tax on Australian goods over forced-labour claims

From July 24, Australian goods sold to the US will be hit with a 12.5% import tax. Washington says 54 countries, including Australia, don't do enough to ban goods made with forced labour. China, Russia, Israel, Japan and New Zealand are on the same list. Trade Minister Don Farrell calls it unjustified; Richard Marles says it "makes no sense."
