Gaza Cinema Academy launched at 2026 Venice Film Festival

Palestinian, Arab and international filmmakers launched the Gaza Cinema Academy at the 83rd Venice Film Festival on 7 September 2026, per Variety. Co-founded by Mai Masri and Ezzaldeen Shalah, it aims to build a permanent film education, training and production institution in Gaza. Backers include Kaouther Ben Hania, Hiam Abbas, Ramy Youssef and Saleh Bakri.
