Amazon Is Working on a New Phone Powered by Alexa

Amazon is building a smartphone built around Alexa, the voice assistant you talk to on Echo speakers. The project, code-named Transformer, is led by Panos Panay, who oversees Amazon's hardware division. This marks the company's second attempt at phone hardware—the first, called Fire, failed in 2014. Notably, Panay has said Amazon hasn't yet decided whether to actually release it.
