U.S. lawmakers again vote to stop fighting with Iran

On July 23, 2026, the U.S. House of Representatives voted 214–208 to tell the President to stop military action against Iran. Rep. Pramila Jayapal led the effort. A few Republicans sided with Democrats. The House turned down a similar vote in March, passed one in June, and passed again now. A matching Senate vote was expected that day.
