Emmys drops "Creative Arts" label; five categories shifted off NBC primetime telecast

The Television Academy has dropped the "Creative Arts" label. All three Emmy ceremonies — two weekend nights and the September 14 NBC telecast — are now called "the Emmys" (Variety, 6 September 2026). Five categories moved off the NBC telecast to Night 2 for the first time: supporting actor and actress in a limited series, and writing and directing for a limited series. Over 100 awards were handed out across the weekend.
