Tesla Now Creates the Performance Targets Used to Judge It

Starting Q2 2026, Tesla stopped using outside analysts' estimates and began publishing its own targets for vehicle deliveries and earnings, per its Investor Relations site. Tesla now both sets the yardstick and is measured by it. In this author's view, the change is not inherently problematic but deserves close watching in future quarters.
