Gordie Howe bridge deal contradicts Carney's promise on toll money
A bridge agreement released July 22 shows Canada will share toll money with the U.S. before paying off the $6.4-billion bridge debt. Carney said July 16 that Canada would not share tolls until the debt was fully repaid. The deal contains no such protection. Conservative MP Shuvaloy Majumdar said Carney "misled Canadians." The PMO did not respond.
