Released Gordie Howe bridge agreement contradicts Carney's debt-repayment assurances

The Gordie Howe bridge agreement, released July 22 under Conservative pressure, splits net revenues with the U.S. after operating costs but before debt-servicing — contradicting Carney's July 16 statement that Canada would not share tolls until the $6.4-billion bridge debt is repaid. The agreement contains no debt-servicing carve-out. Conservative MP Shuvaloy Majumdar said the document shows Carney "misled Canadians." The PMO did not respond.
