Stuart Nash steps down as election candidate after maternity leave comments

Former government minister Stuart Nash has quit as a candidate for the NZ First party. He called National MP Katie Nimon "lazy" for taking time off after having a baby. She took six months; Nash said she took nine months on full pay. The Prime Minister called the comments sexist and said Nash would not become a minister. Party leader Winston Peters accepted his resignation.
