Substack now lets readers check if writers used AI, without telling the writers

In July 2026, Substack added a tool that lets any reader scan posts, comments, and replies longer than 100 characters for AI-written text. Writers are not told when someone checks their work. They must find and challenge any wrong results themselves. Writers can check their own drafts and add a note disclosing AI use.
