Anthropic Talked About Buying Robotics Startup Physical Intelligence

Anthropic and robotics startup Physical Intelligence discussed a possible buyout in spring 2026, The Information reports. Separately, Physical Intelligence sought $1 billion in new funding, which would value it at $11 billion — up from $5.6 billion last November. CEO Karol Hausman denied the takeover talk to employees. OpenAI, already an investor, started its own robotics team in May 2026.
