Moderna and Korea University Team Up on New Virus Vaccine Using mRNA Technology
Moderna and Korea University announced in July 2024 they will develop a vaccine using mRNA—a genetic instruction that teaches the body's immune system to fight disease—for hantavirus, which causes fever in East Asia. The partnership shows mRNA technology, best known from COVID vaccines, is now being used against other regional diseases. Early tests in mice suggest this approach works better than older vaccine methods.
