Snap Reaches Settlement in Social Media Addiction Lawsuit, Meta Left as Last Defendant

Snap has tentatively settled a lawsuit claiming its app caused social media addiction, ahead of a July 2026 jury trial in Los Angeles, Bloomberg reported and Snap confirmed. Settlement terms were not disclosed. TikTok and YouTube already settled the same case, leaving Meta as the only company still facing trial. Over 3,300 similar lawsuits are pending in California state court.
