Starmer ally questions how Burnham would fund electricity tax cut

Darren Jones, once Sir Keir Starmer's right-hand man, says Andy Burnham's plan to cut tax on household electricity bills does not add up. Burnham wants to scrap a digital ID scheme to pay for it. Jones told the Financial Times that scheme had no money attached, so cancelling it saves nothing. The tax cut is confirmed for October.
