MP says fire service gives excuses instead of fire trucks as 35 vehicles sit undelivered

Ōtaki MP Tim Costley told a group of MPs that Fire and Emergency New Zealand has made promises instead of delivering fire trucks. Thirty medium fire trucks are still not on the road after years of delays. Five ladder trucks are stuck after faults found last November — two still being fixed in Australia. FENZ admitted it had not bought them properly.
