Czech Company Launches Kalimba: A Synthesizer You Play and Shake

Bastl Instruments unveiled the Kalimba, a hand-sized music device that combines 12 finger-pluckable metal tines with software sound-shaping tools. Built-in microphones capture your playing; motion sensors detect when you shake or tilt it, changing the sound in real time. The three-year project launches on Kickstarter May 7th, starting at 389 EUR; standard price is 500 EUR.
