
Heavy Seasonal Rains Kill 25 in Northern and Northeastern India
At least 25 people died on July 20, 2026, when heavy seasonal rains called monsoons caused floods and landslides across northern and northeastern India. Kashmir reported 15 deaths; Nagaland, nine. Over 57,000 people across seven districts in Assam were hit. India's weather office said the intense rains could last up to a week.
