Pronto, a startup that connects homeowners with plumbers, electricians, and cleaners, has expanded from five to 150 neighborhoods across 10 Indian cities including Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. The rapid growth suggests the company has figured out how to operate profitably at the local level—a milestone most competitors struggle with. The company has also attracted investment from Lachy Groom, a former partner at payments company Stripe.
