U.S. Military Stops Using Anthropic's AI

The U.S. military has stopped using all AI tools from Anthropic, a Defense official told the BBC on 5 October 2026. The break follows a February order to drop Claude, a chatbot like a smart helper used since 2024 for secret work including the Maven Smart System for sorting military data. The Pentagon signed deals with Google, xAI and OpenAI.
