Pentagon says it has ceased all use of Anthropic products

The U.S. Department of Defense has ceased use of Anthropic products, an official told the BBC on 5 October 2026. The cutoff follows a February order to phase out Claude, used since 2024 in classified work including the Maven Smart System. The Pentagon signed contracts with Google, xAI and OpenAI.
