Thousands Block Disputed Parade in Portadown

Thousands of people blocked 35 Protestant marchers from walking down Garvaghy Road in Portadown on 27 September 2026. A court had said hours earlier that officials' decision to allow the Drumcree parade — the first permission since 1998 — must stand. Local residents, supporters and political leaders stayed on the road to stop it.
