Thousands Block First Approved Drumcree Parade Since 1998

Thousands of protesters stopped 35 Orangemen — members of a Protestant fraternal order — marching down Garvaghy Road in Portadown on 27 September 2026. Hours earlier, the High Court upheld a Parades Commission ruling allowing the Drumcree parade, the first approval since 1998. Residents, supporters and political leaders held the road.
