Ottawa won't cover daily bills until 2029-30, watchdog says

Ottawa's budget watchdog says the government won't cover its day-to-day bills with day-to-day income until 2029-30. The 2025 budget promised 2028-29. Prime Minister Mark Carney told Toronto's Canada Investment Summit Ottawa would beat that by a year. Watchdog Annette Ryan leads the office that gives Parliament independent financial advice.
