87-year-old woman forced to leave lifelong Madrid home

Police on Wednesday forced Maricarmen Abascal, 87, who has a disability, to leave her low-rent flat in Madrid's Retiro area, her home since 1956. The flat used an old Spanish lease that kept rent very low, like a price frozen in time. It is owned by property company Urbagestión. She will stay for now with relatives.
