Waymo Says Its Self-Driving Cars Crash Less Than People

Waymo says its cars with no driver had 82% fewer crashes that hurt people than human drivers across 271 million miles through June in Atlanta, Austin, Phoenix, Los Angeles and the Bay Area, including 95% fewer serious crashes. Like an apples-to-apples check, Waymo did the comparison itself using the same streets.
