Old Stone Wall Found Under Central Paris

Archaeologists uncovered a 20-metre wall of stone and wood under the Hôtel-Dieu on Île de la Cité, the island in central Paris, in summer 2026. It is thought to be part of the ancient city walls from when Paris was called Lutetia, built by the Parisii, the Gallic people. The city says it could teach us more about early Paris.
