U.S. Asks Australia to Drop Internet Safety Plan

The U.S. asked Australia on Sept. 22 to drop a 2026 bill that would make apps hide posts judged unsafe. Washington says the rule for what is unsafe is unclear. Australia says the bill lets people switch off automatic recommendations, and says ties with the U.S. are safe.
