U.S. Gets Two New Military Areas in Greenland

The U.S. can now use two new military areas in Greenland, at Narsarsuaq and Mestersvig, and update and enlarge its Pituffik Space Base. The U.S., Denmark and Greenland signed the deal September 22, 2026, at the UN General Assembly in New York. It updates a 1951 deal and confirms Greenland, like a house, still belongs to Denmark.
