DJI's New Robot Vacuum Can Climb Stairs

DJI announced the Romo 2 robot vacuum at IFA 2026 in Berlin on September 3. Two physical legs let it climb steps up to about 1.5 inches — or two steps at roughly double that — something no current robot vacuum can do. It also has very strong suction, detects tiny obstacles, and includes a mode that cuts off internet access for privacy. Pricing and release date were not announced. A US launch is unlikely due to FCC restrictions on foreign-made robot vacuums.
