DJI's Romo 2 Robot Vacuum Adds Physical Legs to Climb Stairs and Steps

DJI announced the Romo 2 robot vacuum at IFA 2026 in Berlin on September 3. Two physical legs let it climb single steps up to 4cm high, or two steps at roughly double that — a capability no current robot vacuum offers. The device also reaches 36,000Pa suction, detects obstacles as small as 2mm, and ships with a Local Data Mode that air-gaps its internet connection. Pricing and release date were not announced. A US launch is unlikely due to FCC restrictions on foreign-made robot vacuums.
