UK Government May Limit All Political Donations as Crypto-Funded Party Grows

Since March 2026, people living abroad can donate up to £100,000 yearly to UK political parties unless they've been on the UK voter list for 12 months. Now the Burnham government wants to cap everyone's donations, which could limit big gifts powering Reform UK. Its top backers — crypto-billionaires Ben Delo (£8m) and Christopher Harborne (£15m plus £5m to Farage) — live outside the UK. Delo reportedly plans to move back; a Reform source says his latest £4m won't need returning.
