Sleeping In on Weekends May Lower Your Blood Pressure, Study Finds

A seven-year study of 40,727 South Korean adults found that getting about one hour and 37 minutes of extra sleep on weekends lowered high blood pressure risk by up to 9%. But researcher Nawon Lee cautioned that sleeping too long can throw off your body's internal clock and erase the benefit. The findings, presented in Munich on August 31, 2026, have not yet been independently verified.
