Melting Glacier Bursts in Nepal, Killing 669 and Leaving Nearly 3,000 Missing

On August 26, 2026, a glacier — a huge, slow-moving sheet of ice — collapsed in Nepal's Rasuwa District. It sent a wall of water crashing through Nepal and into southern Tibet.
