Glacier Collapse Flood Kills 669 in Nepal, Nearly 3,000 Missing Across Himalayan Border

A glacier collapsed in Nepal's Rasuwa District on August 26, 2026, sending a catastrophic flood through Nepal and southern Tibet. As of August 30, at least 669 are dead and 2,000–3,000 remain unaccounted for, including over 550 on the Chinese side. Nepal has deployed 15,000 personnel as the search shifts toward recovery.
