Lambda Borrows $1 Billion to Buy AI Chips for Microsoft

Lambda borrowed $1 billion through JP Morgan Chase to buy Nvidia AI chips it will rent to Microsoft. The chips and Microsoft's promised payments back the loan. Banks are lending against the rental income the deal will generate, not against Lambda as a company.
