Nepal and China Warn of Second Flood Wave as Blocked River Rises on Their Border

Flash floods along the Bhote Koshi River on August 26 killed at least 538 people, with Nepal Police reporting 588 dead and over 1,500 missing. Now both Nepal and China warn that dirt and rock have blocked the river, forming a man-made lake that could burst like a bathtub overflowing. Rescues are paused and evacuations are underway in Rasuwa.
