
Ice Collapse Near Nepal-Tibet Border Kills 168, Traps Hundreds of Travelers
On August 26, a massive sheet of ice broke loose near the Nepal-Tibet border, killing at least 168 people. Over 1,300 are missing, including more than 100 Indian pilgrims traveling to sacred Mount Kailash. Around 600 Indian travelers are stuck in Taklakot, Tibet. India has set up an emergency help desk and is working with Nepal and China to rescue them.
