Judge Rules Pentagon Wrong to Punish AI Company Anthropic

A federal judge ruled August 28 that the Pentagon violated Anthropic's free speech rights by blacklisting the company. The punishment came after Anthropic refused to let its AI be used for mass surveillance of Americans or self-firing weapons. The judge called the move unlawful and unjustified. The case is Anthropic PBC v. U.S. Department of War.
