Sixth B.C. Conservative legislator quits in two weeks, shrinking opposition ranks

B.C. Conservative MLA Bruce Banman left his party's group Aug. 27 to sit as an Independent — the sixth to leave in two weeks. Leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay called them "selfish" and reassigned their responsibilities. With fewer members, the party has less sway over votes and committee work in the legislature.
