Federal workplace records show more than two dozen Waymo and Zoox test drivers suffered sprains and whiplash in 2024–2025 when self-driving cars braked hard or swerved suddenly. These injuries don't appear in crash statistics the companies publish. One agency tracks crashes; another tracks workplace safety. Neither captures injuries that happen without a crash.
