Hugging Face Opens $399 Preorders for a Small Walking Robot Called Microduck

Pollen Robotics, part of Hugging Face, opened preorders August 27 for the Microduck: a 25-cm tall two-legged robot. It uses laser-based distance sensing, 15 motors, a grasping beak, and software that learned to walk through trial and error. At $399, it runs free, open software on a standard chip. Shipping is planned before Christmas 2026. Each robot creates a unique sound identity when first turned on.
