BBC Says Top Gear Is Coming Back After Almost Four Years Away

BBC executive Ed Havard confirmed Top Gear will return, speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival on August 27, 2026. The show paused nearly four years ago after co-host Freddie Flintoff was badly hurt in a crash while filming at Dunsfold Aerodrome. The BBC reportedly paid Flintoff £9 million to settle. No host has been named; comedian Jimmy Carr may be in talks.
