Amazon Triples Its Order for Nvidia's AI Chips

Amazon and Nvidia announced an expanded deal on August 26, 2026, adding 2 million specialized computer chips called GPUs to Amazon's cloud computing centers, for deployment in 2027–2028. The chips — Blackwell Ultra, Rubin, and Rubin Ultra — power artificial intelligence. The order comes five months after Amazon's earlier 1 million-chip purchase. Nvidia said demand from AI labs, businesses, startups, and governments has exceeded expectations. Financial terms were not disclosed.
