Tech Companies Sued Over Keeping Tariff Refunds; One Small Firm Gave Money Back

After a February 2026 Supreme Court ruling struck down Trump-era import taxes, Sony, Amazon, and Nintendo were sued for keeping tax refunds instead of passing them to customers. Sony's refunds total about $508 million. Panic, which makes the Playdate console, voluntarily returned the money, its CEO calling it "not our money to keep." Courts will decide if refunds must be passed along.
