Spain Asks EU for Emergency Help with Ceuta Migrant Crisis

Spain asked the EU for emergency money to help Ceuta, a Spanish city on the North African coast. In July 2026, over 70,000 migrants arrived there and at least 90 died. Thousands remain stuck, including children traveling alone who Spanish law protects from being sent back. EU officials say they are reviewing the request as a priority.
