Fusion Startup Starts Building $1 Billion Energy Plant in Albuquerque

Pacific Fusion has broken ground on a $1 billion facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico, aiming by 2030 to achieve net facility gain — producing as much energy as it consumes. A commercial power plant is planned for the mid-2030s. Founded in 2023, the startup has raised over $1 billion in milestone-tied funding. Its system will release about 100 megajoules of energy per burst.
