Threads Is Testing Text Versions of Audio Clips

Meta's Threads app is testing a feature that automatically writes out what is said in audio clips, so people can read along with the sound off. Platform head Connor Hayes announced the test on August 24, 2026, as part of broader podcast tools being developed. Threads reached 500 million monthly users in June. No launch date has been set.
